High fashion is 2% of the marketplace, NAAFP focuses on the other 98%. Which ensures that 90% of the farms in this country are able to participate.
NAAFP members pay only their share of all costs, based on the amount of fiber they had in the runs.We produce 24 products, 22 of which contain suri fiber.
All the fiber that is submitted is used
We have a specialty product for those Hairy fleeces, which returns $35/ lb profit.
We use Neck and Blanket fiber. (not "Accept" but 'USE")
We've had regional collection facilities for 4 years and have operations manuals so that we have consistent shipping guidelines and average shipping cost of $0.50/ lb of raw fiber. Who says shipping alpaca fiber is expensive. Not when you know what your doing!!
